Information, Policies & Procedures
Revised 1-2-25
We want all of our new friends to have the best possible experience at The Lakehouse Inn at Sledd Creek. To make sure that happens, we have some policies in place that we ask guests to follow.
Booking/Check-in/Check-out
You must be 21 years or over to reserve a room with a valid ID.
Maximum rate on individual rooms is $199/night. Maximum rate on cabins is $259/night. There may be a 2- or 3-night minimum stay during events and/or holiday weekends.
A deposit of one night is due at time of booking. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the check-in date/time of 4 p.m. For cancellations prior to the deadline, a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to cover credit card fees incurred. The full amount of reservation is due and non-refundable 48 hours prior to check-in date/time of 4 p.m. unless other arrangements have been made. Guests are responsible for every day of the reservation. If you arrive late or leave early, you will still incur a charge for those days. In order to make the check-in process as streamlined as possible, we only accept credit cards for reservations. Gift shop purchases can be made in cash or with a credit/debit card.
Check-out is at 11 a.m. Late check-outs may be honored with prior approval from management if room is not reserved for another guest. A maximum of one hour after check-out is allowed for no fee with prior approval. For every additional hour, there is a $50 charge. Management may remove guest property if the guest has not vacated the premises at the agreed upon check-out time. Guests may swim after check-out and use the restrooms in the pool house during swim season.
Due to limited staff, early check-ins may not be permitted. Guests are allowed to use the swimming pool (in-season) before checking in as we have restrooms for your convenience.
Finally, we are a contactless/keyless property. The code for your room also works the vending room entry door. (This code only works at your check-in time of 4 p.m.) It’s seriously just 4 numbers and then the check mark, but if you need some help, click here for a handy video: https://youtu.be/xdDNJ9XDqTw?si=Xhawn4Npo36eUWIH
Room Property
We are a non-smoking facility. No smoking or vaping is allowed inside any room or cabin. There will be a sanitation charge of $300.00 on your credit card for smoke of any kind in rooms or cabins. Smokers' receptacles are located at each end of our three main buildings, at each pavilion, and near the entrance to each cabin. There is also no smoking or vaping in the lobby, vending area, or at the pool. Be kind to your neighbors and avoid smoking near their doors and/or AC units. :)
We have a no pet policy. As much as we love animals, we do not allow any pets on the premises. There will be a charge of $300.00 and you will be asked to leave with no refund of room costs. Service dogs are permitted - please make us aware when making your reservations. We will ask the following questions: 1) Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? And 2) What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
When making a reservation, our system keeps your information on file in the event of room damage or loss/theft. Damage &/or missing items will be charged to the customer at the current retail value. We will always try to communicate with guests about damage or loss to rooms prior to charging a card.
Any guest bringing hazardous materials will be held responsible for any and all financial loss. Due to insurance requirements, there will be no fireworks allowed on the property at any time.
We take pride in offering guests a safe and clean facility. Please let us know if something is damaged, broken or just isn't working! We probably have a replacement.
Please leave rooms and cabins in the general condition you found them and return items to the original room - as we inventory after check-out. We don't want to charge you for towels, linens, etc. that you simply took to another room on property. Love something in our rooms so much that you must have it? We have a list of retail pricing for items in rooms and cabins. Don't forget to log out of any apps on your room television upon check-out.
Please respect our quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Contact management for excess noise issues. And keep your speed down and watch for others, especially between buildings. Guests may have up to 2 visitors, but we ask that they depart by 8:00 p.m. or a charge of $10/person may be charged to your card.
When checking out, if you accidentally leave an item - give us a holler. If we can, we'll ship it to you, or you can run back by. Any item left unclaimed after 30 days will be donated or disposed of accordingly.
While there are no ironing boards or irons in individual rooms - we do have them in the lobby, along with a handheld steamer. Shoot us a text.

Pool, Pavilions & Game Area
Pool hours vary depending on season. During April and until Memorial Day weekend, pool hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. From Memorial Day until Labor Day weekend, pool hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hours change back to 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Labor Day until the end of October. Pool may be closed any day as early as 7 p.m. if there are no swimmers. Our pools open in April and close in October - they are heated (and cooled) for your convenience. Please note that pool rules are posted on the gate and fence. If you have a group function and would like the pool to stay open for extended hours, please ask and we will try to accommodate you by having a staff member stay later.
Swim at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty. There is emergency equipment located at the pool - and a call box for dialing 911.
During the summer season, we will place pool towels in your room at no charge. Please text 270-362-4254 if you need additional pool towels or would like to change out wet towels for dry ones. We have a washer and dryer available to you if you need to launder your personal pool towels. Guest room bath towels are not allowed at the pool.
Please don't bring individual speakers to the pool. We do have music and speakers playing for ambiance. If you don't like the song, wait about 4 minutes and it will be over. :)
Food is not allowed at the pool. Drinks are okay, but no glass or open containers. Please clean up after yourself - there are trash cans at the pool for your convenience.
We provide cushioned floats for your convenience. These can also be used as chaise cushions or nap mats for little ones. Please remove floats from the pool when not in use. Cushioned floats should not be used for changing diapers as this is against health department codes. There are changing tables in both pool restrooms.
Try not to move the umbrella stands, but if you must - use the handle. They have wheels.
Use of the pool and game area is for guests only. Ping pong balls and paddles are in the slide-out attached to the side of the table. (We have spare balls in the lobby.) Our new putting green has been installed, so bring your favorite club! If not, there are clubs and golf balls in the game area. We also have a horseshoe set in the office if you'd like to use it. Games located in this area include: ping pong, Connect 4, cornhole, giant dominoes, and washers. Link to fire pit instructions:https://youtu.be/hUuDU99UQTA?si=hjA29b4p6hPc0LH4
There are two pavilions on the property. The rear pavilion has four picnic tables and three permanent BBQ grills. Bring your own charcoal! The poolside pavilion also has 4 picnic tables, and it's located next to the game area. Both now have electricity and lights for evening use.
Vending/Lobby
Our vending/laundry area is available 24 hours with the use of your room code. The washer and dryer are coin-operated ($1.50), as is the laundry vending machine with detergent and dryer sheets ($1.00) and the food/beverage vending machine. We do have quarters in the office upstairs if you need some - just find us during business hours or plan ahead. In a pinch - use a $5 on the vending machine and you'll get quarters back. Our lobby hours depend on the season, and they are posted at the front door.
Peak Season
M-F 6am-7pm
Weekends 7am-7pm
Off Season
Daily 9am-5pm
We have 3 options for ice. In the vending area, there is an individual bucket-type machine. There is also a big ice machine that you can use for your cooler. Need some to go? Check the freezer - we have it bagged for $2. (We can add to your room or put your money inside the freezer in the cash box. Be honest, now.)
There is a Tiny Pharmacy in the vending area, so see the girls at the front desk during lobby hours if you need an essential item. Prices are posted on the cabinet.
We do have games and things in the lobby if you'd like to borrow them - and there are books on the shelf if you'd like to take one. Finished your book? Leave it for the next person!
