Information, Policies & Procedures
Revised 1-20-26
We want all of our new friends to have the best possible experience at The Lakehouse Inn at Sledd Creek. To make sure that happens, we have some policies in place that we ask guests to follow.
Booking/Check-in/Check-out
Is there a minimum age requirement to reserve a room?
You must be 21 years or over to reserve a room with a valid ID.
Do you require a minimum stay?
There may be a minimum stay required during peak season, events, and/or holiday weekends.
Do you offer extended stay pricing?
We do not. All of our rates are nightly.
Do you require a deposit when making a reservation?
A deposit of one night is due at time of booking, unless otherwise stated by your OTA.
What is your cancellation policy?
During the off-season, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the check-in date/time of 4pm. During peak season (May 15 through September 15), cancellations must be made ten days prior to the check-in date/time of 4pm.
Will there be a fee if I cancel prior to the deadline?
For cancellations prior to the deadline, a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to cover credit card fees incurred.
When is the full amount of reservation due?
The full amount of reservation is due and non-refundable 48 hours prior (or 10 days prior during peak season) to check-in date/time of 4 pm unless other arrangements have been made. Guests are responsible for every day of the reservation. If you arrive late or leave early you will still incur a charge for those days.
Do you accept cash for reservations?
In order to make the check-in process as streamlined as possible, we only accept credit cards for reservations. Gift shop purchases can be made in cash or with a credit/debit card, or we can add it to your room.
What credit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is at 11 a.m.
Are late check-outs an option?
Late check-outs may be honored with prior approval from management if room is not reserved for another guest. A maximum of one hour after check-out is allowed for no fee with prior approval. For every additional hour, there is a $50 charge. Management may remove guest property if the guest has not vacated the premises at the agreed upon check-out time.
Is an early check-in a possibility?
With regards to early check-in: Guests who check in prior to noon may be charged a fee equaling 50% of the nightly rate. Guests who check in prior to 8 am will be charged for a full extra day. Due to limited staff, early check-ins may not be available. Please don’t arrive early and just assume your room will be ready, especially during peak season.
Do you have cribs available?
We do not.
Do you offer rollaway beds?
Yes, we do. There is a fee of $20 to put one in your room. Please let us know when making a reservation.
Do you have a highchair available?
Yes, there is one in the laundry/vending area. Please let us know if you need us to place it in your room.
When is “peak season?”
We consider peak season May 15 - September 15.
Is the pool available prior to check-in time or after check-out?
Guests may swim after check-out and use the restrooms in the pool house during swim season. Guests are also allowed to use the swimming pool before checking in for no charge.
What is the digital registration process prior to my arrival?
Guests will receive a digital registration link via text or email. It is important to complete this step if you will be arriving at the property after lobby hours, or if your reservation was completed through an OTA. You will need to enter driver’s license information, and may or may not be asked for your credit card information. (Guests who reserve through an online booking engine such as Expedia will have to provide a driver’s license, credit card and valid email address for incidentals prior to receiving their room code for check-in.)
Do you offer contactless check-in?
Yes! We are a contactless/keyless property. The code for your room also works the vending room entry door. (This code becomes active at your check-in time of 4 p.m.) It’s seriously just 4 numbers and then the check mark, but if you need some help, here is a handy video.

Smokers’ receptacles are located at each end of our three main buildings, at each pavilion, and near the entrance to each cabin. There is also no smoking or vaping in the lobby, vending area, or at the pool. Be kind to your neighbors and avoid smoking near their doors and/or AC units. :)

We will always try to communicate with guests about damage or loss to rooms prior to charging a card.
What happens if I bring hazardous materials to the Inn?
Any guest bringing hazardous materials will be held responsible for any and all financial loss and will be asked to leave the premises with no refund.

We take pride in offering guests a safe and clean facility. Please let us know if something is damaged, broken or just isn’t working! We probably have a replacement. Hit us up on the text!
Do you inventory the rooms after guests leave?
Yep. So please leave rooms and cabins in the general condition you found them and return items to the original room. We don’t want to charge you for towels, linens, etc. that you simply took to another room on property. Love something in our rooms so much that you must have it? We have a list of retail pricing for items in rooms and cabins. Don’t forget to log out of any apps on your room television upon check-out.
What are your quiet hours?
Please respect our quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Contact management for excess noise issues.
Can I drive super fast through your parking lot?
Please don’t. And watch for others, especially between buildings.
Are guests allowed to have visitors?
Guests may have up to 2 visitors, but we ask that they depart by 8:00pm or a charge of $20/person may be charged to your card.
Oh no! I left my glasses! What should I do?

During April and until May 14, pool hours are 10am to 7pm. From May 15 until September 15, pool hours are 9am to 9pm. Hours change back to 10am - 7pm on September 16 until the pool closes in October.
Where can I read those exciting pool rules?
Pool rules are posted on the gate and fence.
Is the pool ADA accessible?
Yes, there is an electric transfer chair at the larger pool.
Can I rent the pool for a party?
We do not allow pool rentals at this time.
Is there ever a chance for the pool to stay open super late?
If you have a group function and would like the pool to stay open for extended hours, please ask and we will try to accommodate you by having a staff member stay later; however, there may be an additional fee.
I’m staying at the Inn and I’d like to invite an extra swimmer. Is that an option?
Each reservation may have up to two extra swimmers; however, there is a $20 charge per person, per day, paid in advance. Please notify the front desk if this is something you are interested in.
Does your pool have a lifeguard on duty?
We do not, so please swim at your own risk. There is emergency equipment located at the pool - and a call box for dialing 911.
Are there towels located at the pool?
None AT the pool, but during the summer season, we will place pool towels in your room at no charge. Please text 270-362-4254 if you need additional pool towels or would like to change out wet towels for dry ones.
I brought my own pool towels but they are funky from use. What shall I do?
We have a washer and dryer available in the vending room if you need to launder your personal pool towels. (You’ll need quarters. You’ll also need quarters to buy the single detergents and dryer sheets.) Guest room bath towels are not allowed at the pool.
Can I bring my giant boom box and blast loud music at the pool?
Please don’t bring individual speakers to the pool. We do have music playing over speakers for ambiance. If you don’t like the song, wait about 4 minutes and something new will come on.
Can I eat at the pool?
Nope. Food is not allowed at the pool (do you want to swim with floating pizza crusts?) - please use the pavilion for your picnic. Drinks are okay, but no glass or open containers. Please clean up after yourself - there are trash cans at the pool.
Should I rush to the pool when it opens and save chairs?
No need. We have NEVER had every chair full because we provide so many. Seriously, there are like 75 out there. And tables and umbrellas.
Is it true that there are super cool floats out there for people to use?
We do provide cushioned floats for your convenience (and we sell them in the gift shop). These can also be used as chaise cushions or nap mats for little ones. Please remove floats from the pool when not in use. Cushioned floats should not be used for changing diapers as this is against health department codes. There are changing tables in both pool restrooms.
Oh no! The umbrella isn’t blocking my sun anymore! What should I do?
Try not to move the umbrella stands, but if you must - use the handle. They have wheels but dang they’re heavy. We’d rather you come find us and let us move them for you.
Do you have a hot tub?
Not yet. :)
Can non-guests use the pools and game area? What games are available?
Free use of the pool and game area is for guests only. Ping pong balls and paddles are in the slide-out attached to the side of the table. (We have spare balls in the shed.) Our putting green is adjacent to the pool, so bring your favorite club! If not, there are clubs and golf balls in the game area. Games include: ping pong, connect 4, cornhole, giant dominoes, and washers.
Do you have a firepit?
Yes, we actually have two! There is a giant gas firepit back by the pool area. It runs on a timer. If you want to spend a long time sitting next to it - watch the timer and turn it before the fire goes out. Here’s a link to fire pit instructions:
https://youtu.be/hUuDU99UQTA?si=hjA29b4p6hPc0LH4
We also have a real wood-burning fire pit out front. Firewood is stacked out there. For additional firewood, lighters, and kindling - check the tub next to the back door in the breezeway. That’s where we stash it.
Do you have pavilions available?
There are two pavilions on the property. The rear pavilion has four picnic tables and three permanent BBQ grills. Bring your own charcoal! The poolside pavilion also has 4 picnic tables and it’s located next to the game area. Both have electricity and lights for evening use. We don’t charge to use them, but if you want to make sure that it’s reserved for your family for a certain event, let us know ahead of time so we can put it on the calendar.

The washer and dryer are coin-operated ($1.50), as is the laundry vending machine with detergent and dryer sheets ($1.00) and the food/beverage vending machine. We do have quarters in the office upstairs if you need some - just find us during business hours or plan ahead. In a pinch - use a $5 on the snack machine and you’ll get quarters back.

Our lobby hours depend on the season, and they are posted at the front door.

My beverages are hot. Do you have ice available?
We actually have 3 options for ice. In the vending area, there is an individual bucket-type machine. There is also a big ice machine that you can use for your cooler. Need some to go? Check the freezer - we have it bagged for $2. (We can add to your room or you can put your money inside the freezer in the cash box. Be honest, now.) All three are available 24 hours with your room code.
My head is hurting and I forgot my toothbrush. Do you sell essentials at the Inn?
There is a Tiny Pharmacy in the vending area, so see the girls at the front desk during lobby hours if you need an essential item. Prices are posted on the cabinet.
Do you have any books or games or puzzles available for me to borrow?
We do have games, puzzles and things in the lobby if you’d like to borrow them - and there are books on the shelf if you’d like to take one. Finished your book? Leave it for the next person!

Can you take me to Marshall Yards?

Do you have outlets outside rooms and cabins so I can charge my fishing boat batteries?
Of course we do. This place is awesome.

We are not directly on the lake. We are approximately one mile from a lake view.
How far are you from the lake?
We are one mile from Kentucky Dam Marina.
Where is the closest place to rent a boat?
