Historical racing machines, anyone? Over two hundred of them?
I’m going to admit something to you. When I heard Marshall Yards was coming to Kentucky Lake, I immediately thought BlackJack and Roulette and slot machines. Turns out that’s not legal here. (Who knew?) The machines at Marshall Yards are historical racing machines – so naturally, I did this:
Hey Grok! What is a historical racing machine?
Turns out – it looks like a slot machine, but players bet on previously run horse races from a database with archived races. But don’t we already know who won a race that already happened? I do not know the answer to this. What I do know is that players are betting against each other – known as pari-mutuel betting – and not the house. It’s not a game of pure chance – it’s more like sports betting and Grok says that a portion of what’s wagered goes back to support the horse racing industry.
All I know about this, I learned from Grok. Moving on.
There are also these kiosk things where you can bet on sports. Yes, even some live horse racing in a simulcast.

If you’re not into gaming, you can grab some food at Wet Your Whistle and a drink at the Sports Bar. Plus, there’s a cool stage above the bar and they have live music on the weekends!
Now for my favorite part – the ladies’ restroom. I took a pic, because it said I was looking gorgeous.

Enough of that. If you're wanting to learn more about it - or want to see their entertainment lineup - check out their Facebook page. They have some cool promotions, like Military Mondays, where active duty, retired and veteran military reward members get perks. I also see that they've posted some of their most recent big winners, in case you're looking for a new friend. :)
Let me know what you think!
