This spot has been around since 1989 - and everyone knows about Maggie's. Of course, there are cool animal statues. But sometimes the real animals - like the pompous peacocks - stroll right on by while you're trying to hit a hole in one. Make the gorilla roar on hole 18 with your first shot and win a free game the next time you're there.
It takes a little longer to play golf while nursing a Tiger Blood shaved ice, but it's totally worth it.
When you're done with your round, don't just head home — this is where Maggie's turns into so much more than mini golf. Rent a golf cart and take the Jungle Run for a spin. Buy a cup of seed at the window and go say hello to the animals up close: a camel, ostriches, emus, goats, sheep, a few donkeys with hilariously short little legs, and a whole bunch of bunnies. And then there are the peacocks — pretentious as ever — including one solid white one who treats the fence more like a suggestion. He gets loose a few times every season, and somehow it always ends up being the highlight of somebody's trip.
Maggie's is family owned and operated by Mike and Jimila Fulks, and it shows. This isn't some corporate mini golf chain — it's a labor of love that's kept Kentucky Lake families entertained for going on 37 years now.
Maggie's is old school - cash only - but there's an ATM, so don't panic. They're a seasonal business, but she keeps everyone updated on hours via Facebook. The parking lot is always full, y'all.
