“As I came down the hill and looked out over this portion of Hematite Lake, I was immediately drawn to those calm waters. The trees parted to create this perfect window to the little bay below. Turtles were sunbathing on a log before hopping into the water at the sound of my footsteps. The roots of the trees show a lot of foot traffic here, and I found myself wondering how many people had stood here before me.”
