Backwoods and Boardwalks

Hematite Lake Trail is a 2.2 mile loop trail encircling beautiful Hematite Lake. Meandering through the back portion of the trail, you'll find this peaceful boardwalk covering ¼ of a mile over sprawling natural wetlands.

Throughout the year, you can see a wide variety of flora and fauna. This is one of my family's favorite hiking trails at Land Between the Lakes. With a good chance of seeing snakes, lizards, birds, deer, turtles, fish and beavers, my boys love visiting this area!

The boardwalk was recently rebuilt after erosion took its toll and walking along this is much easier than the path that used to be there.”

This photo is the feature art in Room 101. And Land Between the Lakes is a great spot for anyone who loves a good nature hike, and it's just a short drive from the Lakehouse Inn.
